IJ Start Canon Pixma MG5422 Drivers Download– The Canon all-in-one wireless Pixma MG5422 photo printer begins with virtually the same strengths, including better-than-average text quality for a multi-function inkjet printer (MFP), and then based on them to offer a substantially more capable printer for just a little more money. In particular, it offers better photographic quality and the ability to print on optical discs. The combination, plus the unusually high-quality text, makes it suitable for home, Home Office or both.
Like the MG4220, the MG5422 is better understood as a home-oriented MFP that can also be used for light use in a domestic office. However, it lacks some important office-centric functions, with no fax capacity and no automatic document feeder (ADF), which means that your flat bed sets the limit of the maximum paper size to scan.
MFP’s basic functions are limited to printing, scanning, and copying. You can also preview images on memory cards with the 3.0-inch color screen before printing.
Paper handling is relatively low. The input capacity of 125 sheets is a little more than the MG4220 offers, but it is still suitable for light use only, even in a home office. A small advantage is a second photo-only tray, which can hold up to 20 sheets of 4-by-6 photo paper so you can print photos without having to swap the paper on the main tray. Also very on the positive side there is a built-in duplexer (for double-sided printing), which also works for double-sided copying. However, without ADF, placing and flipping pages on the flat surface is a strictly manual task.
Setting and Speed
The configuration was standard, but with a hiccup annoying. The printer refused to print the auto-alignment page The first two times I tried, displaying a useless error code on the front panel’s LCD and telling me to try again. After you turn off the printer, turn it back on, the alignment page was printed, and I didn’t have any other problems. I would feel much more comfortable with this problem if the error message had told me something useful. However, once I overcame the setup, everything worked well enough.
The best thing to say about the speed of the MG5422 is that it is not slow enough to consider it to be a serious problem. I programmed the printer in our business application suite (using QualityLogic hardware and software to measure time) at an effective level of 2.5 pages per minute (ppm).
That makes it a little faster than the MG4220, at 2.1 ppm, but notably slower than the best price of Epson WorkForce WF-3520 at 4.4 ppm or the best price MFC-J825DW Editors ‘ Choice Brother, to 4.0 ppm. Also help is that scored better for the speed of the photo. The average of 1 minute and 4 seconds for a 4 by 6 makes it a few seconds faster per photo than the WF-3520 and almost a minute faster than the MFC-J825DW.
Quality and other topics
Regardless of what you lose the MG5422, it is compensated with an output quality that is easily superior to par, with the typical graphics quality of a multi-function inkjet printer and a text and photo quality notably better than most. The edges of the text characters are not as sharp as the ones you would get with a laser, but the text is much more readable in smaller font sizes than the text of most inkjet printers, and is good enough for any use Other than the desktop publication.
The quality of the graphics is at the top end of the range where most of the inkjet multifunction printers are located, so it’s good enough for any internal business use, including PowerPoint brochures . Depending on how much perfectionist you are, you may consider that it is suitable for an important customer or client. The quality of the photograph is notably better than most inkjet printers can offer, and is better than the one they will get from many pharmacy photos.
